To Place an HVAC Takeoff

Select a Takeoff option from the Takeoffs gallery.

Select a duct run where the Takeoff will be placed.

Note: The duct is specific to the type of Takeoff you are placing (Rectangular Takeoff is placed on rectangular duct etc.)

The Place Component dialog will display.

Select a Placement Point option from the Settings tab.

Expand the HVAC Port Settings tab and define the options available for the port end preparations.

Click the Design Conditions to define the size parameters for the Takeoff. (Width, Height, etc.) By default, some of these values are determined by the duct size selected and cannot be modified. You may use the other property fields in the Placement dialog to define more specific values for the component as needed.

Pick a point along the length of the duct to place the Takeoff and left click to accept.

Use the mouse to determine the rotation for the Takeoff and left click to accept.

Right-click to end the placement procedure.
